Ship the "Dom Perignon"!!!!.....Variance in Poker???

-Hey folks....it's been over a month since I last updated my blog....I know...what a lazy ass I must be. I just can't help it.....when I first started this blog...I thought to myself how easy it was to maintained a current...up to date summary of my life....then reality sets in and how missing one day of bloggin can turn to 2...3..4.....a month later...of not updating.
Well...today I went to a fancy liquor warehouse to buy my cousin who turned 33 today a couple of bottles of "Dom Perignon" champagne....that's right people....the bottles that costs several hundred a pop(I got this idea after reading the...."$$Untouchables$$"....blog on cardrunners)....but for my cousin...nothing is too expensive for him. The reason is that when I first arrived in the U.S. from Hong Kong, China, at the age of 5....I didn't know anybody in Maryland and hardly speak any English, but my cousin was always there to help/hang-out with me because I was not comfortable with other kids in my grades as I was learning the language in ESOL....in other words...he looked out for me as if I were another of his little brother than the one he has.....ya sound sappy...so what...sue me...LOL.

Meanwhile....I won 4 buy-ins today at the $2/$4 Pot-Limit Omaha level.....I found a really good game and people were shipping money left and right to me....it was crazy....at first I thought I was playing super good and my skills were paying off.....but I slowly realized that it was my variance in poker that was finally going positive!!!! I noticed that alot of draws did not get there when all our money was in the pot and I was leading in the hand or statistically I was favorite on a massive draw....it felt good to finally be running decent again as the last several weeks was a little rough for me.....I could almost relate to...."$$Untouchables$$"....blog...after I read his post about dropping several buy-ins in PLO at Full Tilt(Don't worry bro...keep on practicing and ur be a champ in no time!!!).......ah well...other than that...I'm gonna hit the sack and will try to continue to update my blog...no promises tho...LOL!!!

LOL...I'm still running decent and also playing good at the same time....Today I played another session of mixed $1/$2 and $2/$4 Pot-limit Omaha....I quickly got in the game for 2-3 buy-ins due to a mixture of misplaying my hand or having it outdrawn. But I pulled myself together and manage to book a small win on the books. After continuing to study the PLO videos at CardRunners....I was able to play many hands and understanding why I make certain movies against different opponents...I mean...it opened my eyes to the games itself...everything seems to clicked....In this session...I was able to read my opponents on the table..for ex....I read which players were going broke with Aces no matter the flop texture and also who likes to push on draws....armed with this new information...I effectively played much better against my opponents.

While I was playing online...I was watching the WPT Feista Largo tourney(I know...bad idea..I should be focused on the game)...I must say...watching Joe Pelton making his 2nd WPT final table gave me a new sense of respect for his game(even tho..he made some horrible calls in this paricular tourney).....I mean winning his first title had been considered luck by many ppl....but making a 2nd final table is also pretty hard too...so bravo dude.

Oh well...on another note....this is the 3rd straight day I kept my blog updated....so far so good on my promise...lol......well...I'm gonna hit the kitchen for some midnight snacks and then head straight to bed....Be safe folks.

SHIP IT!!! Online PLO=+$837....CR Education=Priceless

Yup...I said "SHIP IT"...lol.....I just finished a session of $1/$2 and a little of $2/$4 Pot-Limit Omaha and I'm up $837....not too bad...it could have been way higher if my flopped nut straight held against my 2 other opponents drawing for the same flush draw and If I didn't flop mid-set against top-set!!! What really helped me today was re-watching all the CardRunners PLO videos by the pros and constantly reevalute my game with their teachings....while not everything they explained is perfect....their goal is to open your mind to many different situations in the game and how to tackle them. It was amazing by watching the PLO videos again while playing actually improved overall my game alot. CardRunner is an excellent site that everyone should look into before jumping into online poker games....nuff said.

In other news....Apples decided to lower the Iphone prices so that they can achieve their goal of selling over a certain amount by the end of Christmas....Arrrg....apparently alot of current Iphone holders(including me) were very upset about our early support for the company by purchasing the device early that they flooded the internet with e-mails to the CEO of Apple...Steve Jobs....that he decided to give all current Iphone holders $100 credit at either a Apples store or Cingular store that is good for the phone bill to show the companys appreciation for our support...so I'm lookin forward to the extra $credit soon.

Also..I'm planning to head up to A.C. again to play in the $250 or $500 super-satellite tourney for the WPT event at Borgata on Sept 16th.....plus the bonus of many cash games being available due to the tournaments....so if any of you are heading up there let me know.....Peace.

Playing Bad.....School....Redskins...and Patriotism

Hey folks.....It's been 6 days since my last post....I'm just trying to regularly update my blog like I promised myself in my last post. Well....let's see....I had my $1/$3 NL game last Friday and Sunday.....it ran pretty well....except one thing......lately I been playing so badly in NL that I would dump a rack or two at my own game(a rack equals to $500)....which is pretty bad and hurts my bottom line at the end of the day for me. How am I losing that much.....as I been playing mostly PLO online....my live and possibly online no-limit game has deteriorated to the point of non-existent.....I know it sounds crazy, but I used to play pretty decent or truthfully....just about below-average. But now my leaks is visible to everybody....playing out of position(especially with horrible cards..ex-"it's suited")....calling bets/all-in when I know I'm beat.....also I am running a little bad as I type this post....but mostly playing bad overall. I took the liberty to stop playing for a couple of days and just relax....and also to read several decent NL books to refresh the finer points of NL theory and strategies. Hopefully, this will slowly turn my current streak into the positive swing.

Uggghhh....college started again...what can I say....I do need a degree...so plenty of studying and completing homework/projects on time for each of my classes....LOL.

In sports news....Redskin won their season opening game against the Miami Dolphins....16-13.....close game....but I don't care.....so SHIP IT!!!! I actually won a $40 bux straight-up bet(no unders or layovers)...just my home team kicking the opposing team ass.

Finally.....today is September 11th.....its the 6th anniversary for that tragic day that killed thousands of our fellow Americans.....time to reflect how lucky for those including us that didn't lose any family or friends.....these kind of events shows how poker however rewarding and fun should always be second to families and friends in the list of priorities. Also, I wished to give a shout-up and salute to our brave men/women in the U.S. Military that are currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting for our freedom and destroying terrorists that wish us harm......OK...enough rambling from me....good night and GOD BLESS YOU FOLKS!!!!

Turned 21 and being Alcoholic......Plus stepping down a limit in Poker...

Wow...can't believe its been over 2 months since I last blog....I'm sorry if any of u folks that have been reading my blog was disappointed that I don't regularly update.....well...that changes from now on....In other news....I recently turned 21 on Sept 2nd.....it was fun since I went up to A.C. to play some poker and drink the night away......poker was so-so.....but the competition was absolutely horrible....all those stories about the easy games in A.C. were true!!! Unfortunely...they did not spread any $2/$4...$5/$10...or $10/$20 PLO games down there....it was actually a disappointment to me since I wanted to test my skills in a live game.....I drank alot and ate alot of fine meals(lobsters....steaks...veals...more lobsters)....mostly Caeser was where I played poker with my buddies....it was an ok casino...but I really wanted to visit the Borgota cause everyone was telling me it was the shit...after 9 hours....we head home and I just fell asleep at 1pm.

Right now....I'm stepping down to $1/$2 PLO from $10/$20....$5/$10...and $3/$6 PLO....to slowly grind back up not because of any bankroll issues...but to get back my "poker hunger" to win and also to practice being disciplined in playing starting hands in positions....lately I have been "bored" with poker and my bad playing of certain hands/positions has shown....I been lucky so far in the fact that I either get there or my opponent has a massive draw and not get there.....Thats not how I play poker and I voluntary decided to sorta "punish" myself till my game is retooled and refined. So far as I type this blog....I have won 6 buy-ins at the $1/$2 PLO level and I'm pretty happy with my game. I think winning 6 more buy-ins in the next couple days should be enough practice for me and to move up to $2/$4 PLO. Well...it was nice updating this blog....gotta head to bed and get ready for class in 2 hours...lol.

Losing $1600 in an hour and a half!!!

Ugggg....thats right folks....I lost $1600 dollars in 1 and half hours of playing $2/$5 no-limit......My God...I played so bad that it sickens me.....I literally played so bad on every hand that I wanted to kill myself afterwards.....the first hand I got involved was with B and Bobbie....I called a $25 raise with 4h-5h on the button and the flop comes.....8h-9h-ks.....its a 5 way pot.....checks to B...he bets $50....I raised it....I'm smart huh...with 4 players behind...I must be on crack or something...Cythnia actually had the nut flush draw and cold-calls the $130 total....so does bobbie.....back to B and he raised all-in with his alleged set of 9's.....I meant to raised on top of that and me being retarded....somehow forgot to mention the word raise and the dealer informs me that I just called.....GOD I'm dumb......Bobbie thinks...thinks and smooth calls with J-10o and the fuckin Q of spades hit to give him the fuckin nut straight......he has 6 outs and he gets there.....since he dosn't know what I have...he has to assumed he is losing with his J-high.....he moves all-in and he saved me some money as I might bet to isolate my chances of winning the pot....which was why he moved all-in the first place cause he was looking out for me instead of check-raising me and he told me that and I know he is telling the truth....I can't call with 1 card to come......shipped $400 in that hand....next hand....I raised with A-J in MP....and got 2 callers with Jessey on my left....comes....Qh-10c-4c.....I check....Jessey bets....I smooth-called...turn is a Jd....he bets $145 or $150....again I called....non club comes on the river and he goes all-in covering me.....Now I don't know what possesed me to think he was bluffing...but long story short...I thought my 2nd pair with top kicker was good and called....only to shipped my remaining chips to Jessey's set of 4's....I mean I play better than that and I can't believe it myself.......got another thousand and shipped $600 of it to fuckin Jeff with my A-Ks......on a flop of....Ks-4c-2d.......he check-raised me and me being an idiot moved all-in to see the turn...Kd....and a meaningless river.

In conclusion.....I'm a big Donkey and shouldn't play anymore $2/$5 no-limit or above till I stop playin like a jackass!!!!......ahhhh....I feel better after writin this post.

What a slow day....Just Chillin...

Hey folks.....well nothing much happened today.....I woked up at 2pm in the afternoon...jumped in the shower and went straight to lunch to meet-up with the rest of the family at Montgomery Mall....as I parked and walked by several store...I actually went inside the Apple Store and comtemplated about buying a IPhone....since I use alot of the extra features of the phone...internet..text-messages...and etc....but it was not to be as they don't have any in stock and new shipments arn't destined for another 2-3 weeks....oh well.....headed straight to Legal Seafood and damn...they have the best clam chowder in Maryland....it was soooo goood.....followed by my main course...Surf and Turf(steak and shrimps/scallops)....yum...yum.....what a nice hit for me since I didn't even have to pay...LOL.

After lunch....I left my cousin and the family to handle some financial business at Wachovia(my bank)...and went back home to take a power nap......woke up about 2 hours later and chilled with my cousin who's been here for about a week now from Hong Kong, China.....went to dinner and after played some......$1/$3 NL poker at Steve's condo/apartment at the Gallery.....it's generally a good game with a few decent players in it....but add in a few players like...Ali...Ben...and Jessey....u have yourself a crazy game. Me and Jessey actually butt heads in a all-in pre-flop pot with me holding.....A-9o(offsuit) and god knows what he had....the board came.....4c-5c-7s-Qd-2s.......it missed me completely.....yet Jessey told me ACE-HIGH is good....LOL....can u believe it...a $600+ pot and he told me my ace-high was good....thats funny. But he's a cool dude....plays decent from what I have seen....especially if the stakes are higher...he is also a fellow online poker grinder that made most of his bankroll online...which I understand because I didn't even fell like playing poker...more like gambling for the hell of it at the $1/$3 NL stakes....don't get me wrong...$1/$3 no-limit...there is a decent amount of money...but when u get used to playing $2/$5...$5/$10 and even $10/$20 no-limit...the amount of money involved seems insignificant......oh well....after an hour or 2...I left even for the night and went to my resturant to talk to my father about some issues and then went straight home to chill for the rest of the day.
